Sustainability and eco-compatibility – two terms that prompted bathroom furniture manufacturer Burgbad to take 4.5 million euros and invest it in new paintshops in Bad Fredeburg and Nogent le Roi, France. The new facilities use only water-based paint so as to avoid the harmful effects of volatile organic compounds.

The company was founded on 1st October 1918 by Franz Kaldewei, the great-grand father of the current managing director Franz Kaldewei. At the beginning, Kaldewei manufactures raw materials for enamel industry.
